Most paintball scenario games are played in large wooded fields or other nautral areas.
It is a rare oportunity to be able to play in buidlings or other structures. In fact the military has similar problem for training for Urban Combat encounters. So the Military has developed new training grounds called MOUT, or Military Operations in Urban Terrain.
One of the few places that both the military MOUT and scenario paintball intersect is
Camp Blanding in Florida, which allows very few paintball games per year to be held there since it is an active military training base.
A rare opportunity for scenario has developed at White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) near the city Green River, Utah. The WSMR was abandon in 1972 and has become overgrown area. There are also 3 old factory buidlings about 1/4 mile from the WSMR main area that have also been abandon for many years.
Paradox Games, LLC. has partnered with the City of Green River to turn this abandon area into a viable MOUT training facality. The WSMR would be usable for frequent Scenario Paintball events as well as traditional Military, National Guard, SWAT, Homeland Security or other public agency training.
Green River City and Paradox are in negoiations with several Federal and State agencies and hope to have resolution in early 2007. It is our hope that WSMR can become the premier MOUT training facality in the Western US.
The main area is composed of 3 large factory buildings. Pictures below.
Building 1 is partialy buit into the hill with some metal stairs and a large room.
Building 2 is the largest with multiple levels and an upper room. It also has several access points from doors, garage bays and other rooms.
